Yogurt Dill Sauce is a flavorful blend of yogurt, garlic, fresh dill, lemon juice and olive oil. This easy homemade dip recipe is delicious served with grain bowls, as a spread for sandwiches and wraps or used as a dip for veggies and fries!

Colorful and crunchy vegetable platters make such great appetizers. And as far as I’m concerned, homemade dill yogurt dip paired with fresh-cut veggies is WAY better than what you’d purchase in your local grocery store.

I think everyone can benefit from having a go-to veggie dip that can be mixed up quickly and easily! This one is perfect for parties, BBQ’s, family get together’s during the holidays, or everyday snacking at home. I always make this dill yogurt sauce for get togethers and it is ALWAYS gone by the end of the event. It’s just that good!

Yogurt Dill Sauce Ingredients

This easy sauce recipe has just 5 key ingredients, but is packed with so much delicious flavor. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Thick yogurt. Adds an amazing creaminess and nice tang to the sauce. I like using Greek yogurt. You can sub some or all of the yogurt with sour cream or mayo, however the sauce will be less tangy.
  • Garlic. A must in a delicious, savory dressing, dip or sauce.
  • Dill. The star of the show in this recipe! Dill adds wonderful freshness and a subtle sweetness to the sauce.
  • Lemon juice. Fresh lemon adds brightness to the sauce and balances out the flavors.
  • Olive oil. To thin the sauce a bit.
  • Salt & pepper. To bring out all of the wonderful flavors!

What to Serve with Dill Yogurt Sauce

This sauce/dip is the perfect pairing with so many different foods. Here’s what I recommend:

  • Raw veggies (carrot sticks, celery, sliced bell pepper or cucumber slices)
  • Crackers
  • Potato chips
  • Pita chips
  • Greek fries or any French fries
  • Crusty bread or serve it in a bread bowl
  • As a spread in a wrap, on a sandwich or burger

Recipe Tips

A few tips for the perfect Greek yogurt dill sauce!

  • Feel free to use sour cream or mayo to replace the Greek yogurt. I really love the tang that Greek yogurt gives the sauce, but any of the three will work great.
  • I use fresh dill when I make this yogurt dill sauce, but you can use dried dill if you prefer. If using dried dill, use 1 tablespoon.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled, if you’re looking to serve a larger crowd.
  • To make this sauce a dressing, simply whisk in milk (plant-based milk works) or buttermilk to reach desired consistency.
  • For vegan yogurt dill sauce, use a vegan Greek yogurt option. Alternatively, you can also use a vegan sour cream or mayonnaise to make this sauce.

Storing Dill Yogurt Sauce

Kept refrigerated, in an airtight container, this creamy yogurt dip will last for about one week. I actually think this sauce/dip tastes better the day AFTER you make it. All the flavors really get a chance to meld and marry together. I often make this dip the night before I plan to serve it.
